Band

Band

In any Air Cadet Band, there is always a large sense of commitment on part of it's members that is needed to ensure the success of the band. Not only is this evident in the successes of the 713 Thunderband, but it is also evident that there is a great sense of family in the music program.

Drill Team

Drill Team

"Drill, Drill, Drill, 713!!!"

These words are said with pride and enthusiasm every time the Thunderbolt's Drill Team get together. We are a team who works together to help each other to improve. It's a great way to make new friends, have fun, and to learn to be a team.

Flight School

Flight School

Air Cadets offers two Transport Canada Pilot licenses, the Glider Pilot License (GPL) and the Private Pilot License (PPL). Scholarships are offered to air cadets in order for them to get their pilot licenses at various flight schools around the province. The licenses are free through Air Cadets (the GPL normally costs $2000, while PPL normally costs around $10 000), cadets just have to pay with their dedication and hard work in the squadron.
Rifle

Rifle

Air Rifle training was introduced to the Canadian Cadet Movement in the 1990s. The addition of air rifles reflects the need for an inexpensive, readily available marksmanship program.
Effective Speaking Program

Effective Speaking Program

The Effective Speaking (ES) program provides opportunity for Air Cadets to find their voice and build self-confidence through practice, instruction, and competition.  Annually, top speakers at the squadron level compete at the regional ES competition.  During the provincial ES competition, the top regional speakers deliver prepared speeches and most excitingly, speak off-the-cuff like pros.
